What does it mean to wait for God? For this year’s Advent study, we will meet every Monday to discuss the following series of daily readings focused on the themes of waiting, timing, peace and presence.
Here’s a suggested method for engaging with the daily readings:
- ASK God to connect with you here. In prayer, start by slowing down and inviting God to be present. Begin with focus and openness to see what God has for you today.
- READ the section of Scripture slowly. Take note of the words and phrases that intrigue you, reading them a second time if necessary.
- REFLECT on what you just read. Reflect on what grabs you. You know the verse you read over a second time. How does this passage personally relate to your own life and experiences?
- RESPOND: What is your response, your feelings, your thoughts that were generated as you read the passage? Speak directly to God about what’s on your mind and in your heart. Look for ways to live out what you’ve just uncovered.
