It’s Best to Start Small

Sermon for June 28, 2020 (Fourth Sunday after Pentecost)
Gentle Spirit Christian Church
Vicar Alyce Keener
Via Facebook Live

Today’s Messages:
“It’s Best to Start Small” Matthew 10:40-42 (MSG)
“We are intimately linked in this harvest work. Anyone who accepts what you do, accepts me, the One who sent you. Anyone who accepts what I do accepts my Father, who sent me. Accepting a messenger of God is as good as being God’s messenger. Accepting someone’s help is as good as giving someone help. This is a large work I’ve called you into, but don’t be overwhelmed by it. It’s best to start small. Give a cool cup of water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won’t lose out on a thing.”

Rev. Paul Turner, Senior Pastor
Via Facebook Live

Today’s Messages:
“Treating Each Other with Dignity and Honor” James 3:17-18 (MSG)
“Real wisdom, God’s wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterized by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced. You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treating each other with dignity and honor.”

“Connecting the Dots” Matthew 7:21-29 (MSG)
Key Verse 24: “These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homeowner improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on.”
