A Journey of Blessings: Daily Lenten Devotional

Shadow of Christian cross at Easter

As the Lenten season begins, we are reminded that these next six weeks we are called to reflect on our faith, celebrate our blessings and spend time renewing and rededicating our lives to God. I have included daily readings from the Revised Common Lectionary put together by Vanderbilt Divinity Library. Hopefully this will make for easier time of study, meditation, and prayer to begin our days during this sacred and holy journey.

Join us on Mondays (except Easter Monday) at 7:30pm Eastern for our weekly Bible study of the key Gospel readings in this devotional.

You’re blessed when your commitment to God provokes persecution. The persecution drives you even deeper into God’s kingdom.

Not only that — count yourselves blessed every time people put you down or throw you out or speak lies about you to discredit me. What it means is that the truth is too close for comfort and they are uncomfortable. You can be glad when that happens — give a cheer, even! — for though they don’t like it, I do! And all heaven applauds. And know that you are in good company. My prophets and witnesses have always gotten into this kind of trouble. (Matthew 5:10-12)
