In Sorrow We Remember
In sorrow we remember the loved ones we have lost.
As love bestows its blessings, it also brings a cost.
The joy we felt so deeply is now the deepest pain.
In sorrow we remember and say their names again.
In sorrow we remember our neighbors who are gone.
However well we knew them, our thoughts of them live on.
Their lives and ours were tangled, however loose the skein.
In sorrow we remember and say their names again.
Oh, may our hearts be opened to everything we feel.
Our sadness and our wonder we hold as true and real.
In faith and trust we honor the power of our grief.
In sorrow we remember a love beyond belief.
